Location Dam site is located in Chungthang, North Sikkim district, Sikkim Installed Capacity 6x200 MW = 1200 MW Dam Concrete Face Rock Fill Dam, Height 60m, Length of the Dam at top 225.0 m Diversion Tunnels One No. on left bank, 10.00 m dia horse shoe shape, Length 992 m Spillway Tunnels 2 No’s, 10.00 m diameter horse shoe shaped, 992m and 1181m long Spillway Tunnel on Left Bank and 1 No., 11.0m dia horse shoe shaped, 1357m long Flushing/Spillway Tunnel on right bank Chute Spillway 2 bays of 11.00 m width, 300m long Desilting chamber 2 No’s, 320m long x 17.0 m wide and 23 m high Head Race Tunnel One No. of length 13.8 km (From d/s of Desilting Chamber), size of 7.5 m dia, Horse Shoe shape Surge Shaft Restricted Orifice type circular surge shaft, size 13 m dia, Height 155.0 m Pressure Shaft Steel lined circular type, 2 Nos., Size 4 m/3.25 m/2.5 m diameter Powerhouse Underground, Size of Machine-hall Cavern = 214.30m x 21.30m x 44.80m, Size of Transformer Cavern = 188m x 15.8 m x 16.0 m Tailrace Tunnel Free flow tunnel type, Cross section area 8.2 m x 8 m (D-Shaped).
Present Status of the Project: ·          75% of the Construction Supervision, Quality Assurance for Civil Works, Project Management & Contract Management services. ·          90% Detailed Design & Engineering including preparation for Construction drawings of all civil structures. ·          90% review of HM & EM designs.
